Wave Petunia hardiness?

jeffreylamarJuly 27, 2006

Last summer, a seed from one of our Tidal Wave hanging baskets dropped and took root in the soil beneath the basket and did quite well for the remainder of the season. To our surprise, the plant in the ground survived the winter. We live in the U.S. in the southern region of Maryland, where the average lows in January and February are in the 20s F (zone 7, I think).

This spring, we placed four Tidal Wave plants and twelve Original Wave plants in the ground (this is in addition to the twenty Original Wave plants we have in hanging baskets on our porch and deck). Does anyone know if we should expect the Wave plants we placed in the ground to survive until next season? What is the temperature tolerance for the Tidal Wave and the Orignianl Wave?
