snapdragons wilting

rpawJuly 11, 2008

I have some mature snapdragons wilting. I pulled some of them up and noticed a white fungus at the base of plant at the mulch level. Is this Verticillium Wilt? If so how do I treat? Can I also treat snapdragons not yet showing signs of this. Eveyone of the effected planys were very vigorous in growth then suddenly wilted then die.

Thank you for any help.

I think snapdragons do that. I don't know what the disease is called, but it has happened to me with the tall beautiful ones.

Mulch decomposing often can be seen with the white threads of mycelia produced by the fungi. I doubt it is the roots of the snapdragons being attacked by fungi. Al
