Fugi Apple question:

loneranger_growJanuary 28, 2014

My neighbor in southern Iowa has a fugi tree and has had good apples on it, and is why I am interested in getting a tree.Upon reading about them , they seem to be a southern tree, is that correct? Do they experience a lot of disease problems? On where to purchase, has anyone had experience with Grandpa's Orchard Nursery? Thanks.

I have a Wonder and Red Fuji apples. They are very cold hardy to my zone 5. The temp got down to -18F several years ago and they handled it just fine. I got mine from Starkbros. You can buy them at other nurseries likes Grandpa and Adam County nursery, Like any apple tree, you have to spray for bugs after petals fall.
