What types of bush cherries did you put in? Where are you or zone?
There are a lot of different types of bush cherries, some of the newer ones coming from Canada handle the cold. search

Yes they are a bush :) I have 6, grow to about 8 ft tall and are pretty maintenance free.

We tend to have a lot of problems with bush cherries on wet side of PNW. Rainy spring leads to diseases and fruit aborting. Tree cherries like Montmorency are fine. North Star suffers.
