buying a boom lift?

oldryderFebruary 28, 2013

I 'm looking for a boom lift. short term it'll be used for maint on a log home and later for pruning and picking.

I can buy a nice used one all day long for $13,000 or $14,000. However, I also occasionally see ones good enough for my needs that sold for $6000 or $8000.

I thought someone here on the forum might know the best way to find a cheap one. (I'm already watching craigslist and various auction sites.)

Or search for a local government surplus auction in your area.

I work for a utility and it is considered a government agency and we sell stuff on the SC Gov auction site often.

Most things are well maintained and are sold due to age or mileage on vehicles.

I bought my old work truck dirt cheap a few years back after getting a new one. It was only 4 years old with a 100,652 miles on it. I knew it was in perfect shape and I got it for $1800!

Here is a link that might be useful: Gov. auctions
