Transplanting Blackberries

Jake158(7a)February 29, 2012

Hello, I am transplanting some one year old blackberry plants from root cuttings in a raised bed to their permanent hedgerow position. Should I apply some type of root stimulator or use a complete 10-20-10 fertilizer? I also would appreciate any other thoughts or advice. Thanks.

Not sure what a blackberry root cutting is. Are your plants pieces of a divided cane-clump or are they from tip-rooted canes? Or did you mean rooted cuttings?

Plants from tip-rooting should not require root stimulator, and should not need fertilizer unless the hedgerow soil is poor.
