Harvesting Gingko leaves

vaherbmomMay 8, 2010

I have a grove of gingko trees nearby and wonder when is the best time to harvest the leaves?

Any other tips on harvesting gingko?

I read that it is when the leaves are first turning color in the fall but I have no personal experience.

Hi vaherbmom
fatamorgana is right. I would love to have some leaves and seeds if you have any to spare. Not much, just some.Gloria

Gingko leaf tincture has two problems: its too weak to do the job intended and it often gives frontal headaches. Much preferable to use the standardized extract which is more concentrated and has had the headache causing principle removed during processing. One of a few herbs that is better processed and standardized.
