Crabapple Help to find a perfect tree

rehabbingisgreenMarch 17, 2013

Anyone have a suggestion for a crabapple choice that blooms long enough to use to pollinate an early and midseason apple? I'd also like to be able to use the fruit for jams or something. I also need it to be semi dwarf or smaller in size and self pollinating. My other apples are honey crisp candy crisp and gravenstein. I'm having a difficult time finding a suitable tree.

After some research I'm looking at maybe a Whitney semi dwarf. I'm still trying to find a decent photo of the tree though because mostly I'm finding fruit shots. I'll see if anyone has posted any here on the forum :)
