What are these insect eggs on my persimmon

alexander3_gw(6 Pennsylvania)March 3, 2014

I was just inspecting my Asian persimmon tree, and saw something unusual on one branch. I'm guessing they are insect eggs of some sort....the leaf buds and my finger should give you an idea of the scale. Any ideas what they are?

Alright, I guess I should Google before I post. They look like katydid eggs. We do have quite a few katydids in the summer.

I wish I could rename this thread "picture of katydid eggs on persimmon tree" !
