bella gold

kandituft(5)April 24, 2013

I planted a bella gold last year. It's covered in flowers, but has no branches - just a whip. There are about 3 flowers on the very tip of the whip. Last year the whip was covered in leaves but no branches formed. Is this normal for this particular plant?

Mine hasn't done that but has grown poorly. It bloomed a lot this spring but only set three fruits despite massive hand pollination. The leaves are already curled up and by fall look like they are virus infected. It was like that the first year. The couple fruit I got last year was mediocre. I'm about to whack this thing.
