Store bought Peach Trees

I wonder if Peach Trees sold at Home D, Lowes and other small local Nursery's are treated to prevent leaf curl. Do mail order tress come treated?

great question....but I seriously doubt if they are by most growers.Spray them anyway....it is easy for a small tree.

Joebella,

I don't know if mail order trees are treated for leaf curl. I doubt big box store trees are treated.

By planting time, when the trees arrive, I've already sprayed for leaf curl and don't bother trying to spray newly planted trees, yet for whatever reason the new trees never display any symptoms of leaf curl.

I do prune my new peach trees back to sticks at planting. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Most reputable growers DO spray for PLC (I've contacted several, and this is what I have been told, as PLC is a big, big issue for us out here on the west coast). And, so far, I have not had any PLC with any newly planted bare root tree from a variety of growers, included a few from Lowe's and HD. Dave Wilson Nursery for sure. Cummins, Bay Laurel, Bay Flora, OneGreenWorld, and Raintree to name a few.

I agree that if you are buying from a big nursery, they have been treated..i know i've never seen any issues with newly arrived trees...
