Dormant Spray Rate Per Litre?

bluesky204April 6, 2013

I got my first dormant spray kit today. The label suggests mixing 120ml of lime sulfur and 60ml Horticultural Oil in 3 litre of water.

problem is, how should I set my sprayer dial to allow enough water to pass? assuming 1ml product mixes 1 L of water flow.

should I set the dial to 40:1 (lime sulfur base) or 20 (:1 horticultural oil base) or 30:1 (average of the two)?

Sorry it sounds like some kind of grade 4 math question, maybe my kid would know :)

Spray that mix on your trees don't dilute more use pump up sprayer not garden hose end sprayer. You don't want Lime sulfur to back up in a water supply.

Gators got it. The hose sprayers are for putting stuff on your grass only, not trees. If you have only a couple trees get a smaller handheld sprayer, for more get a 4-gal backpack. Backpack is much much easier to use, you can pump and spray at the same time.
