Melon cold snap survival

ThazoApril 17, 2013

Do you think melons will survive down to the low 40's at night, if the day temps climb back up to the 70's?

We are having a cold snap, and it is only going to be at these temperatures for three days.

They should be fine for a short period like 3 days. We're predicted to hit 30F two nights later this week. I'll cover mine at night and expect them to pull through. The soil is pretty warm as it has been 90F the last two days. If soil drops below 60F for long the plants may damp off.
