Anybody grow sour cherries in containers? Colt a good rootstock?

mnvikesApril 15, 2013

Thinking about growing a sour cherry in a pot, probably a smaller variety like North Star, Carmine Jewel, or meteor. Has anyone else done this? What is a good pot size? What root stocks do the best in containers (was thinking colt)? Any other advice would be appreciated

I had one growing in container on a colt rootstock. Doing well. Two feet of growth in the 2nd yr. Colt root will handle to -10 F and a fairly small tree.
