Which wire for blackberry and raspberry trellising?

fireweed22April 27, 2013

Today the posts all went in, now I need to get the wire.
I'm unsure which gauge. Any suggestions?
I should have quite a bit of electric fencing wire around, but seems it would be a hit thin for the weight of particularly blackberries?
Thanks for your ideas.

#12 wire called high tensile usual sells at ag store in fencing department. As long keep kinks out its good wire for blackberries want get longer by weight berries are vines just summer and winter expansion. As install wire just take slack out wire don't try tighten. It will brake on re-bends hard wire. At your supplier they have tools to wrap wire its simple tool round rod the size #2 Philips screwdriver hole drilled in end so wire go through, tool you buy short so I made mind out screwdriver so have more leverage. This wire same as telephone wire used pole to pole sometime called #12.5 wire one 160,000 other 200,000 pounds both work..
