Grape Erineum Mite Control

Sunrise Vineyards(6 (Western NY))May 30, 2013

Hi Garden Web Friends,
I have noticed that this year appears to be an especially bad year for Grape Erineum Mites in my backyard vineyard. They have affected numerous leaves on several hybrid varieties. Is anyone else having an issue this year? I know the damage to the leaves is more unsightly than it is harmful, but is there any simple solutions for controlling this on a small scale?

I also raise mason bees nearby and I would like to avoid harming them if I can.

Not important to the vine's health.
Nothing can be done/sprayed/applied at this stage.
The mites won't harm hummers.
If you want to spray, suggestion is typically "usual dormant sprays." In other words, not now.
