Pear tree with Fire blight

shambuMay 31, 2013

Hello friends,

Need some serious help to fix my pear tree. The pear tree is 10yr+ old and about 15ft tall. The tree is suffering from fire blight for the last year. 2 year back I had a good number of pears but none last year and this year.

October of this year I cut most of the affected branches and sprayed copper solution few times this year but the fire blight is back and drying all my new foliage.

Please help.

shambu:

UC Davis has a good section on management. Study that and maybe you can get it under control. But if your tree is heavily infected it may not be possible to get it under control. You might need a more resistant variety.
