June bugs decimating trees

ahajmano(sunset 23, Mission Viejo CA)May 6, 2013

Hi all!

I found the culprit! June bugs:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phyllophaga_(genus)

Found them feeding on my fruit tree leaves at night. There is a lot of damage to the leaves. Does anyone have an effective method of controlling these?

The ones we have here in Florida are quite large, at least twice as large as the ones we had up north. They emerge just before dark and set my ducks and chickens off on a feeding chasing crunching frenzy. I know the grubs can be controlled in the ground but no idea about the adults that are causing you trouble.
