Thanks Kobold for the site...They have great ideas for their Mill stones...deb
Some good pics here
Here is a link that might be useful: Millstones
Love the pics of the old, lichen encrusted ones! And the ones with ridges -to better catch the grain for grinding, I guess.
thanks for the links!
What do you use millstones for....
Clairdo2: Millstones can be used for garden or lawn art.....as well as water fountains..table tops....all sorts of things
MyBack, I like those ideas for other uses for millstones! I was thinking if someone used it as a seat or table, that some kind of on-theme sculpted bases would be lovely. Like sheaves of wheat or cornstalks. Might be a tad tricky to sculpt but wouldn't that look nice together?
Marly that would be an awesome looking table or seat.
Your just the person to sculpt that as well....you do such a fabulous job on all your sculptures.
I can picture it now..all the cornstocks or wheat sheaves rising up..like a bouquet(with the stems tied in the middle) to join up to the base of the mill wheel..
I dare ya...:)
Circular and straight...very new and very now forms to-gether..I like that
