Pecan Tree Knots on my leafs

Krazy-in-FloridaMay 18, 2013

I have 2 pecan trees planted in 09. They have been growing great and very healthy. Today I noticed large knots on some of the leafs. It looked like they were growing in the leaf. I broke one open and found insects inside of it. Can someone please tell me what they are and how to treat?
