1980-81 Winter - Champlain Valley Apple Injury

megamav(5a - NY)May 8, 2012

The spring of 2012 seems very similar to the spring of 1981.

Winter of 1980 was brutal, dropping below -20 seven times and then an early spring occurred in February thru April hitting over 60 some days. May 18th dropped to 26 degrees.

I thought some of you might be interested in reading what happened to the crops that year considering its similar to whats happened this year.

Interesting! Particularly the photos of the frost-scarred apples.
