I have an apple tree where some leaves are turning yellow and falling off. Some kind of nutrient deficiency?
Thanks, I'm beginning to think it's necrotic leaf blotch. It's been raining alot here.
What kind of apple tree?
Could be necrotic leaf blotch if there has been dramatic temperature changes or a bad case Cedar apple rust with it being so wet. Try your county Extension agent.
I was told to remove the affected necrotic leaf blotch leaves and spray with captan. It worked. CAR Immunox.

Is it a Golden Delicious or close cousin? Those are the ones most likely to drop yellow leaves when prolonged rain and bright sun take turns. Fancy name is necrotic leaf blotch.
Until we had 17 junipers taken out, I got a good look at cedar apple rust. Infected apple leaves do yellow as the disease runs, but there are much more obvious spots.
You are probably right then. Mine recovered nicely after the captan spray.
