Wilty leaves on young plum tree

ltiltonMay 14, 2013

2nd leaf tree.

Just after petal fall, the leaves on this tree started to look sort of floppy, as if they were going to wilt. They haven't wilted, not yet, and show no other signs of distress, but I have a bad feeling about it. In a photo, the leaves look normal.

They wilt during a freeze and usually show some damage afterwards but not always. Also winter injury caused by extreme cold in mid winter can cause wilting. In the later case the tree or branch often dies when it gets hot.
