Weeping peach tree?

franktank232(z5 WI)May 30, 2012

Not positive, but I have a seed grown peach that sure looks "weeping"... Most all of my seedlings grow tall, this one is just growing long, long branches that end up touching the ground....

Sounds very lovely, Frank. Can you post some photos? Save me a peach pit!

No fruit on it this year. Not that lovely, but maybe if I trim it some it'll look better. Raining out right now (we need it), so maybe tomorrow I'll get some pictures of it. It may not even be weeping, who knows... I just wondered if such a beast exists.

Frank, they certainly do exist, but mainly grown as ornamentals. Two on the market are 'Pink Cascade' and 'Crimson Cascade', both of which have double flowers. They are called Prunus persica, but I suspect that other Prunus species, perhaps almond or even Prunus mume may be in the genetic mix.
