Help! White peach scale!

gatorguy1885(8b)May 13, 2013

I'm finally well defended from the borers and now this! I'm pretty sure this is white peach scale! What do I do? It's all over one side of the main leader branch.

Wow, that's an amazing scale infestation.

I'd get something rough and scrape off all I could. Then I'd spray with oil as much as possible without covering the fruit. I'd probably also hit them now with Bayer Once and Done or another insecticide. The ones I have in my greenhouse are easily killed with oil and insecticides but some scales are resistant especially as adults.

Next winter you need to spray with dormant oil.
