Has "kickback death" occurred

bart1(6/7 Northern VA)May 30, 2014

I'm About ready to start begging my fruits but I wonder if I should spray them one more time with imidan To take advantage of its kickback abilities?

The picture below is from some apples I picked tonight. Is there anyway to tell if kickback death has occurred in these apples from looking at the photos? My last spray was two weeks ago.

Only way to tell is if the apple dropped sometime in the future and you found larvae inside. They look good to me. Apples can mature even with no sprays and PC hits...but not all of them. Imidan has that systematic effect (soaks in) so you should be golden. I actually hit a couple of pluots with a neonic last night for the curative action...i've done that before a few times (i'll just spray the fruit a spritz or so and move on) and its amazing how well it works.

Cut them open to be sure. You should be able to tell if the larva died and stopped feeding.
