Mollie fruit grafted onto pear. Fruit on third leaf.
Orient pear in a bottle. It is about 1 3/4".
I love the pear in the bottle...I'm assuming that's just to do something different, unique, and fun to show....or is there some other reason I don't know? BTW....I grew a few watermelon's last year in plexi-glass boxes I built and ended up with some square watermelons that were the fascination of all who saw them! (Not my idea, of course, stolen from Japan where they do it quite often). Anyway, neat idea.
TheCityMan. This is just a grandfatherâÂÂs way of entertaining four grandchildren. If all goes well the orient pear will be mature/ripe about the last week in July. My plans are to clip the stem and rinse out the bottle and pear and then fill with vinegar. IâÂÂm hoping by filling with vinegar it can be a permanent conversation piece. Now I just need to fight off the urge to try the square watermelon. Bill
Better to fill it with vodka... maybe not for the kids.
Ya what H man said, and put a straw in it!
Harvestman. Now that's funny. Sometimes we forget to have fun. Thanks, Bill
Actually, I have customers who have done that. It does flavor the vodka and certainly adds to the entertainment of serving it.
