Asian Persimmon Not Blooming

Ralph Whisnant(z7b-8 NC)May 16, 2013

Last year my four-year old Fuyu persimmon had a half dozen tiny fruit that were knocked off in a hail storm. Over the summer it nearly doubled in size to about 8 feet. It has fully leafed out and is growing vigorously, but there is no sign of a single flower. Why?

Just look closely at each leaf, the flower usually at the bottom near the stem that attach to the branch. If no flower this year then your tree decided to go biannual, possibly due to last season vigorous growth.
