Peach tree problem

thepodpiperJune 18, 2014

About 4 years ago I purchased 2 different varieties of peach trees. Both trees are doing fine but only one has produced fruit. 2 years ago a groundhog or rabbit ate the bark from around both trees but they have both recovered nicely. The one that has never produced fruit has only flowered 2 of the 4 years. Is there hope for the non producing tree or should I replace?

Is the other tree producing fruit this year? With the bitter cold last winter, [-16ð] here one night, I have no blooms this year...the first in a long time. Some varieties are more cold suseptible than others.

Neither tree bloomed this year but my concern is the tree that has not produced any fruit in the last 3 years. They are both on their 4th year.

Peaches are very reliable producers compared to the other stone fruits. I never had a peach not get into production in 3-4 years so I would give it a year or two more. As Wayne states, this year you probably got done in by the record cold.
