Can figs be germinated from seeds found in bags of commercial dried fruit like Sun-Maid? I didn't know if the fruit is somehow treated (heat or chemicals) to kill the seeds.
I doubt those seeds are viable. Linked below is a very interesting thread on the fig forum that tells you what it takes to get viable fig seeds. Most of the common figs we grow are probably chance seedlings from other areas of the world where the types of figs are grown that will produce seeding plants.
