Persimmon help

fruity123(7b)June 19, 2013

My persimmon tree (6 years old fuyu) is not fruiting or even flowering. When I bought the tree, it had fruits on it, so it is not too young to bear fruit. I planted it in a well draining, fertile, and very sunny locating. There is a huge fuyu persimmon tree 25 feet tall just few blocks from my house and it flowers and fruits nicely every year.

I have 3 Fuyu Persimmons. They are all young. From what I hear, sometimes Persimmon trees give fruit one year and not give fruit the next year when they're young. When they are more mature, they will bear fruit every year.

One of my Persimmons, which gave about 100 small fruits last year is not bearing any fruits at all this year.

I've had persimmons take 5 years, but not 6. Your tree looks healthy to me. I'd wait another year, but something seems wrong.

Looks like lots of new growth this year.
