suncrest peach in NE zone 7

ejp3(7NY)June 18, 2014

A good friend is giving me a few year old nicely branched out Suncrest peach. I can't find much information on it other than it grows great in California. Does anyone have experience with it here in the East? I am mainly concerned with pest and or disease resistance. Thanks

I have one in Texas zone 7a and it has grown well and bore fruit the last 4 years.
Unfortunately the fruit was lost due to late freezes each year.
The only problem I have had is some gummosis.
Our humidity is very low so I haven't had to deal with any fungal problems.
It is a very heavy setter.

Suncrest is reported to be very susc. to bac. spot.

I don't know how much of a problem it is in NY, but it's an issue with the humid climate in my locale.
