Dying branch on Apple Tree

steve333_gw(5a)July 19, 2013

The end of one branch on an otherwise very healthy Lodi apple tree, suddenly died. Leaved all turning brown, and apple which was forming on a spur doing the same. Lower down on the branch, things seem to be fine.

Not sure what the cause is. There does not appear to be any physical damage, and the symptoms do not appear to be fire blight (to me at least).

Anyone have any ideas what may have caused this?

Likely fireblight. Cut the whole branch out.
