Mutant Peaches

xminionJuly 4, 2013

I was wondering if anyone was aware of the problem with peaches that are forming their pits on the OUTSIDE of their fruit?

Last year was a banner year for them....after a record snowy winter, watery spring and summer....this scary looking fruit is forming..

Any knowledge or even a guess about what's going on is appreciated.

The trees are in the Mid West.

It sounds like those are doubled fruits? Sometimes weather causes two fruits to form bonded to each other, and sometimes one is a lot smaller than the other so looks like a seed.
