What's up with the search engine?

milehighgirl(CO USDA 5B/Sunset 2B)July 29, 2012

I've been trying to do research on pears. Some time ago I wrote down some notes regarding a member that said Abete Fetel, Belle D Guigno, and Fondante de Moulle were favorites. I have tried every variation of the names: Abbe Fetel, Abbe Fetal, Abate Fetel, Bella di Giugno, Bella de Guigno, Fondante de Moulins Lille, and have had no luck.

I KNOW there are posts regarding these varieties.

I also was trying to learn something about Asian pears and whether they would grow in Colorado. I found very little.

It seems that the older posts have been deleted.

Anyone else having the same issues?

The search engine is terrible, always has been, I'm sorry to say.

It's usually a better idea to go to Google and limit the search to Gardenweb.com. For example, the following returns several candidates.

site:gardenweb.com Fetel Bella Fondante Lille

Bob,

You are genius. I have tried Google before and put Gardenweb in the search, but not "site:gardenweb.com..." It worked like a charm and I found the post I was looking for.

Thank you!
