Dwarf North Star Cherry Tree Problem

MBaxter34(7a)August 1, 2012

I planted a bare-root Dwarf North Star Cherry this spring. It had two bare branches, which happily started leafing out and it was doing very well for many months. Now suddenly this last month the leaves have turned yellow/orange and there seem to be bugs of some sort living on the under side of the leaves. Can anyone tell me what this may be? And what I should do to fix it?

It's a case of Black cherry aphid. Your leaves will start to curl if ants start farming the aphids.

Spray with Spectracide Triazicide or another approved insecticide.

Thanks BSmith! I always thought aphids would be smaller. Huh. Guess I'd better go to the store.
