Help with grape question not shurPlease

luke_oh(zone 5 NE Ohio)August 29, 2012

This spring I got 12 seedless grape bare root plants. To make a long story short, I had to put them in pots until I got their trellis ready. You guessed it, I didn't get it done. The plants did just fine in the containers and now I have to winter them over in the containers. I assume that they need they be cut back, but I'm not sure how far, 3 buds or what? Maybe I'll have more time next spring. Thanks, luke

Cutting back to 3 buds is good but not now. Do it after they drop their leaves. Then either bury the pots or keep them in a cold garage.

I would plant them in the soil; mulch them well and let them overwinter in their selected spot.
