Russeting. Character. Badge of honor.
Some apples russet to varying degrees depending on the growing conditions. Others russet all the time including some of the very best for fresh eating.
What variety is it?
Funny isn't it? My Pristine, and Jonagold russet, but my Mott's Pink and Enterprise do not. I have noticed that the skin on my Enterprise is thicker than on my other apples, maybe that is the reason?
