How Do I Get Rid of White Scale on Blueberries?

denise_w(7)September 9, 2012

I noticed these a couple weeks ago...softish, small white things clinging to the canes of my blueberry plants. I can easily pick them off, but there are a lot of them now. What should I do?

And is this scale?

Try spraying them with some all season horticultural oil. That should knock out most types of scale or similar insects. It might take several sprays to clean up all adults and eggs.

Can you post pictures? They would help us be certain about what the white things are, as well as the proper management.
