Question on Asian Persimmon Trees
Hi, my name is Eric. I started growing Asian Persimmon trees last spring.
I live in Northern Utah, a few hardiness-check sites say zone 5, but more say zone 6 for my location. The last few years the winters were closer to zone 7.
My question is about the leaves and the trees' health. It got about 24 degrees Fahrenheit during a few nights ago and most of my Kakis lost their leaves before really changing color.
Will the cool temps hurt the actual trees, since they were partially dormant?
My Tamopan and Jiro had their leaves changing, but the Chocolate and Maru were still pretty green. The Jiro and Maru are completely bare, but the Tamopan and Chocolate have a few leaves left on them.
All the trees have new leave buds for next spring on them, and they have vivid green spots where the leaves were located.
Thanks for your time,
