Will persimmon tolerate flooding?
I may have an opportunity to plant some American persimmon trees at a community garden nearby. There is an area there that floods when it rains, and there can be standing water for several days after heavy rains. FWIW, there are a lot of buttercups and coreopsis growing there. How well does American persimmon tolerate standing water?
There is also space where it does not flood, but I was hoping to take advantage of the flood prone area with something that will put up with that, and save the higher ground for trees that will not.
