When is the best time to root sour cherry tree cuttings?

bluespiritartist(5A)October 10, 2013

I rooted some a year or 2 ago but am not sure what time of year it was, thinking it was spring and they took for awhile then died but I believe I had forgotten to water and that's why they died.
My cherry trees need to be thinned for next year, any advice would really be great thank you so much :)

I dont think cherry tree cuttings can be rooted reliably, only cloned thru grafting.

Start with a rootstock, plant it, then learn to graft if you'd like a clone.
