where to plant things...

Hi Gardenweb!

OK, so I am a newbie and I wanted to plant some things now that I own a small house on a small lot. I live in Southeast Iowa, and the USDA says I live in Zone 5a.

I was wanting to plant, since i like them:

1) a single dwarf peach tree (as shown by PT in diagram)

2) strawberries (as shown by SB in diagram)

Here is a map of my property:

Here is the cement block bounded thing where I wanted to plant the strawberries. I figured it would be a good use of the space. But because it is east-facing I am afraid it will not get enough sun.

Follow this link and plug in your address.
Then zoom in to see the sun's path on your property.
Be sure to go to "Mode" and select, Path+Rays.
Drag the marker to your planting spot.

You should plant fruit trees on a southern facing side of your property to get the most sun.
