Blueberry Leaf Rust

shazaam(NC 7B)November 16, 2013

Does anyone have experience dealing with blueberry leaf rust? I've had a very serious outbreak this fall that's been especially hard on my northern highbush varieties. I've read a number of fact sheets, etc., and it would appear that there are no fungicides registered to combat blueberry rust. It's well above nuisance levels for me, so I think I'm going to need to do something proactive. There are no hemlocks or native vaccinium around, so that's a plus. Beyond leaf clean up, though, has anyone had success with any product in particular?

The University of Georgia recommends chlorothalonil post harvest. Bonide's Fungoil has this as the active ingredient.
Other products are also mentioned. Info is on page 36.
