Too late to move strawberries? Northern Ohio

lsohNovember 19, 2013

Is it too late to move my strawberries?

I live in zone 5, northern Ohio. Most of the trees have lost their leaves. The ground isn't frozen yet. It's muddy. We've had one snow that sat on the ground for 2 days. It's 38 degrees today, will be in the 40's the next few days. Then winter will set in. My strawberry plants keep their leaves all winter so I doubt that's a clue.

I just moved this patch after it fruited this year. It has some old mother plants and some tiny daughter plants.

But now a family member would like use this location for another purpose. Is it too late to move them now, or is this a good time?

Thanks.

It seems late to me. Maybe early spring before they come out of dormancy.
