new growth got chopped

vtandreaJanuary 4, 2012

Today I picked up a very large orchid, some type of hybrid in the cattleya family. It had a nice new PB growth about 1 1/2" long which got sheared off in the process of getting it home, unwrapped and repotted. My question is: will the orchid grow another one at some point in the not too distant future if I keep it happy? Will it spring out in approximately the same location?

Thanks, Nick! I was so bummed when I saw the stump of the growth.
