Squash Vine Beetle Prevention?

musickep(7)August 7, 2010

so, I know I had the mold on my zuc, and it spread to my acorn and possibly butternut (too close together) - is that common, that it spreads from plant to plant? Is it in the soil or on the plant? Because spraying the plant with Serenade, hasn't seemed to help...so what does everyone else do?

How does one know if they have the squash vine beetle and how do you prevent it?

Thank you, eager to learn.

If the "Mold" was Powdery Mildew that is weather dependant and can be controlled fairly easily with sprays of either 1 teaspoon of baking soda per quart of water or a 50/50 mix of fat free milk and water sprayed every 5 to 7 dqays.
The link below goes to a site that has good information about control of the varioussquash bugs.
