Orchid branches tunring yellow

sublimeandyJune 4, 2007

I have what used to be a flourishing orchid. recently all the flowers started falling off and now some of the branches are tuning yellow. there is a seperate stalk that is doing fine and has new flowers on the way, but the other stalk is not looking so good. anyone know why this would be? please help my orchid!

It is normal for the spent flowering stems to go yellow and then brown, though some Genera will flower again from the same flowering stem.
Read the FAQ about cutting the flowering stem down to the base or not.
I am assuming that your orchid is a Phalaenopsis.
