strawberries in lasagna garden

mpmom(zone 6)September 11, 2011

I want to start a lasagna garden this week. I currently have a bed of strawberries I want to move. My son has made me 2 raised bed frames for the berrie. My question is, can I move the berries after doing the layers in the few weeks? Thanks for your help

According to what I read that Pat Lansa wrote about her first Lasagna Garden she planted right after building that first bed. Build up that bed and move the strawberries.

Strawberries do excellently under a thick layer of pine needles. I have left that layer on in the Spring and the berries will come up through about 3 inches of needles and be dirt-free for the season.
You may consider that to be your 1st layer... :)
