Phals are Spiking

rjlinvaOctober 30, 2010

I am a real newbie to orchids, but I did want to share that some of my phals are spiking. This is exciting as this will be the first time I will see many of them bloom. I had rescued most of them from clearance bins at the big box stores, and they seem to be doing well. I've also got some catts spiking.

Great fun to see those spikes starting. You've done well with them and they'll reward you with blooms.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm certainly enjoying this new found addiction.

And you might have re-bloomers. Most of mine do. After the last bloom is spent, if you cut the spike just right, it often re-blooms.
